During a recent visit to a Van Gogh exhibit at the Detroit Institute of Art, I was surprised to learn how prolific the painter was in the last few months of his life: 70 paintings in his last 70 days, including many masterpieces displayed in the exhibit. As you probably know, Van Gogh died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 37.
